but it’s over.
Not a bad week at all, just crazy. We had the PGAV/Gettysburg Foundation presentation on Tuesday and I think it went well. All parties seemed happy and I think we, both as a class and as six teams targeting six segments, did a very good job. I loved the fact that we were able to take what we learned and apply it in real life situations, it’s part of why grad school seems so much more real than undergrad. I’d upload the PowerPoint but I don’t even have a copy of our final segments. The one for education . . . → Keep Going: One hell of a week…

So Ute is posting pics of flowers in bloom. Normally I’d be doing that, however the weather had other plans.

I know you’re jealous of my fashion. I figure I definitely got my exercise for the day. We didn’t end up with as much snow as expected but midway through it switched to sleet making the snow very heavy. Snow, snow go away!On the plus side, they let us go early from work. Took me almost an hour and a half to go 14 miles but I got home and had a . . . → Keep Going: Where do birds go when it snows?

Well I didn’t finish it, but I finally got around to writing my review of it. I’m deliberately leaving it unfinished for reasons far too complicated to explain. That has to be one of the most disjointed reviews I’ve ever written, but the book itself wasn’t very cohesive. It’s what I deserve I suppose for going page by page through my (messy!) notes from January when I started the book. I’d like to say I’m going to have a lot of time to read on the Civil War for my class project, but I doubt that’s going . . . → Keep Going: Civil War Readings

Some degree of risk is inherent in any kind of travel, but it seems in the case of Nepal that people are willing to take more risks in exchange for the potential benefits. On the other hand, some luxury travellers to India are looking for quite the un-Indian experience.

So in trying to re-install Gallery last night, I screwed up the MySQL database for the blog and it’s gone. Thanks to the Wayback Machine, which I ♥, I didn’t lose any content. I may move a few relevant posts back, but basically this is a good excuse for a fresh start.
Gettysburg was wonderful, and I’ve uploaded a few photos. I’ll upload more as I have the time.
I really need to digest the trip before I share my thoughts. I think I have about 20 pages of notes, with an equal amount of great ideas. It was a very different trip . . . → Keep Going: Gettysburg: Brief Look

And that’s my reading list before I even *start* poking around the web to see what looks interesting. We got our client assignment for Tourism Product Development and the site visit is to Gettysburg to meet with staff members of the Gettysburg Foundation. We’ll also have a tour of the National Cemetery, tour the town, go on a ghost tour and have a tour of the battlefield. I really wish the Daniel Lady Farm was a part of the tour, but that will have to be a separate visit.
I’m not a huge Civil War buff, but . . . → Keep Going: Destination: Gettysburg
