NY/NJ

Out of boredom and a desire to keep seeing things through new eyes, Dad and I took a trip South down the Hudson River along the Jersey Shore that faces Manhattan (including the area hit by last year's attack) and the Statue of Liberty. These are only some of the photos as they tend to look similar, but you can also read some of my thoughts on the trip.

Let me know if you have any questions. The full-sized versions of the photos are quite large.

This is the George Washington Bridge which connects New Jersey (city of Fort Lee) and NY (at 176th Street in Manhattan.) This photo was taken from the Fort Lee Historical Park.

One of the more recognisable symbols of NY, the Empire State Building, from Hoboken, New Jersey. Even well-known buildings like to play peek-a-boo.

A view of lower Manhattan from Liberty State Park (LSP), in Jersey City, NJ. The area where the World Trade Center would have stood is on the left side.

This is also from LSP, while here I couldn't help but think of what people here for a job, etc would have seen on that morning.

The view of lower Mantattan from Hoboken, a little further North than Jersey City.

Would have been a lot better without the police car and the crane but it still gives you an idea of what people in downtown Jersey City would see. Before that morning what they would have seen would have been the Towers.

This is also from LSP, I liked the view with the tree as it shows the contrast of nature and man.

One of my favourite photos of the day out, this is the Statue of Liberty surrounded by many (more than in this photo) flags from LSP.
