Shinsaibashi/AmeMura

Decided to revisit one of our old haunts tonighy for probably the last time :( Uncle Steven's TexMex Restaurant and Jellyfish American Bar. The latter was the sight of the infamous Girls' Night Out for those of you who heard that story ;) Both of these are located in AmericaMura..aka America Village, called America Town in the infamous Simpson's episode.

For those of you not familiar with the area, AmeMura is the place to go if you want to see Japanese youths attempting to be American..or African depending on their mood. It's one of the night life areas in Osaka and has some cool shops and restaurants. And of course, some good photo ops ;)

Cosmetic Place, where you can also find Enjoy Place and Relax Place. This is a sign for the wonderful place in Shinsaibashi Station.

This is on one of those electronic sign boards. The first frame says "STOP" the second, "AIDS" and the third...well..see for yourself and use your imagination.

This is the reason why students tell me, when I show them a photo of NY's Lady Liberty and ask where it is, they tell me Osaka! This is one of the landmarks of AmeMura.

Another landmark of AmeMura, Tom's House, marked by a scary clown.

Really, what else would you expect to find in the heart of AmeMura!? (Note, photo quality not that great)
