my tracking is insane

really tried to get back on track with tracking from Monday this week. Didn’t track Christmas weekend so much for not wanting to see what I ate so much as tracking the amounts would be hard (i.e two olives, one slice of prosciutto, some italian wedding soup). So I vowed to start over on Monday and have been pretty good. My neuroses are still there though.

I used to see it most with bacon. I didn’t like the points for 3 slices so I’d change it to 2 as if that would matter to my body. As if the . . . → Keep Going: my tracking is insane

Monster AP Day

Statue at the UN

What was that I said the other day about diminishing activity points?!

MONSTER day today w 1487 calories burned, good for 14 APs. The thing is? I totally could have gone longer.

It started after my Weight Watchers meeting this morning (up point 2, totally expected after some not great food choices this week and big losses the last two weeks). It was a gorgeous day and I was trying to stretch my errands out as long as possible, i.e. the furthest Modells and branch of the library*. I had moderate success with that . . . → Keep Going: Monster AP Day

Can I get APs for stressing over my fantasy football league?

because really, I’ve killed a ton of brain cells on that this week, with no reward as of yet I’m so glad it’s football season, I just wish it was year-round. On the plus side, my gym is getting Direct TV which means NFL Network. WooHOO! Just like this summer where I began spending more time at the gym for its AC, it seems as if I’ll be spending time there for their TV. So maybe football does translate to APs.

Like many trying to lose weight, I wear a heart rate monitor to track calories burned/APs while working out. . . . → Keep Going: Can I get APs for stressing over my fantasy football league?

What a difference a year makes

Child of the 80s

This HIDEOUS photo on the shores of the Galilee or the main photo on my blog are almost exactly a year ago during the trip to Israel and Jordan. No idea what my weight was then. This was March 2010 at ~ 209 when I joined WW.

This photo is today. With Saturday’s WI I’m officially 20% down from my start weight and 42.2 lbs down from when I started. Shirt is a present to myself. 80s child all around. I’m so happy with my progress. I don’t see the difference looking at myself day . . . → Keep Going: What a difference a year makes

13 APs is a good start to the week

actually, 4.5 is not a good AP count for me for a weekend day when I have more time to spend at the gym, but I was so sore from yesterday that I wasn’t even sure what I could do – so this was better than nothing.

I did 60m on the recumbent bike and didn’t feel markedly worse than I normally do when done – tush still numb and legs tingly after. It was slightly less distance – 10.25 miles vs. 10.6 or so but that’s OK. I made sure to stretch really well after.

It’s my abs that . . . → Keep Going: 13 APs is a good start to the week

4.4 really?

WOW That’s last week’s 1.5 erased and 2.9 “new” pounds. I knew I’d been good this week but didn’t think I’d been that good. In updating my WPs used/APs earned chart this week I realized I’ve been looking at the wrong number. My biggest losses have come when I earned the most APs. It doesn’t seem to matter how many WPs were used.

So contrary to the popular axiom: you lose weight in the kitchen and get fit in the gym, I seem to be getting more benefit from the gym. Don’t know if it’s increased muscle that’s burning while . . . → Keep Going: 4.4 really?

60m cardio, 3 days in a row for me

WOW!

That may be a first for me, at least since high school when I was playing soccer. Even that in my position as a striker or right full back wasn’t usually 60m straight. Wish I had the fitness and body now that I did then and thought was “fat”.

But very proud of what I did. I also had gym time Thursday-not sure how long but don’t think it was that long. From my recollection: 10m elliptical, 10m rowing and then bike time. I know it was 5.5 APs

Saturday: 25m elliptical, 35 recumbent bike – 7 APs Sunday: . . . → Keep Going: 60m cardio, 3 days in a row for me

a good day *and* a photo I don’t hate?

with Eli Manning 5/2/2010

I’m still bouncing over meeting Eli Manning this morning. Gatorade/GNC had an event for National Signing Day here in NYC and I went and lined up. Wasn’t as crazy as some who camped out over night but I stood for three hours in the sun. Can I get some add’l APs for that? I didn’t even track the walking to and from the subway because I wasn’t wearing my HRM and basically count that as part of what I did pre WW anyway.

I look at some photos and want to cringe. I can’t even . . . → Keep Going: a good day *and* a photo I don’t hate?

Circus Class

Well that was a new way to earn APs. A friend is in town to do a half marathon tomorrow and she wanted to do something different and fun today. She did some research and came up with New York Circus Arts‘ Intro class. The class includes: Acrobalance, Aerial acrobatics, Trampoline, Juggling, Trapeze …

Totally not anything I’d have thought of to do on my own but it was so much fun. I think I actually learned to juggle and I loved the trampoline – so much easier on my knees. Makes me think I might take the rebounding class . . . → Keep Going: Circus Class
