-6? Um, wow

I’m not calling it a 6lb loss, but I’ll certainly take the numbers. Brings me to 48.2 overall.

Part of the reason last week’s gain was as bad as it was was that I knew the week was a lost one from half ass tracking and poor food choices, so what did I do on WI eve? Chicken burger with avocado, fries and a ton of salt and then dessert when I got home. Not the best decision and I didn’t track it, but I moved on.

The previous week had been up .2 so it was really nice to . . . → Keep Going: -6? Um, wow

the numbers don’t lie

the numbers

Weight Watchers is working for me. If you’d asked me in March whether I thought I could weigh 164 pounds in August, I’d ask you what you were smoking and whether I could have some. I was more than 200 pounds and didn’t really have any interest in losing the weight, until something clicked.

My aha moment, as I’ve mentioned before, was getting on the scale finding out I weighed 5 lbs more than I had a few days before. My fingers were swollen as were my ankles and my back hurt when I walked the few . . . → Keep Going: the numbers don’t lie

I’m NOT OBESE

HOLY CARP, I’m in the 160s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 167.8 I’m closer to my “goal” (140) than I am to where I started (209) and I’m officially not obese!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, little excited here

I had no expectations for this week because it was pretty bad. I tracked it all, but there were: a 52.5 point day (technically last week but the scale doesn’t magically know that), a 42 point day and a 36 point day. Don’t regret a bite of either the 52 or 42 point days (guacamole, pork belly sliders) but the 36 point day was stupid munchies. I was . . . → Keep Going: I’m NOT OBESE

so maybe it’s not as clear as I thought

WP AP Chart 6.8.2010

So looking at the chart, maybe it’s not a perfect marriage between APs and WPs. The week ending May 17th was an aberration, however. Big, salty meal the night before WI so I’m willing to write that one off.

The first couple of weeks I didn’t have an HRM but I did my best to track APs. I think the one thing that’s clear is that eating WPs or not have absolutely no bearing on my weight loss.

Last week I operated under the theory that I had 28 WPs because I was pretty much . . . → Keep Going: so maybe it’s not as clear as I thought

Farewell, fair point

I was not at all confident about this week’s weigh in as I’m sick and wasn’t sure a) the weight of the crud in my head and b) any impact of antibiotics. Plus, my throat hurt and I wasn’t great about drinking yesterday. Got on the scale this morning and was pleasantly surprised. Down 2 lbs (or 1.6 lbs of new weight after last week’s gain) for a total of 30 lbs lost. I’m at 179 and out of the 180s for the first time since… Maybe early 2007?

I came home from Japan in June 2006 weighing 167, the . . . → Keep Going: Farewell, fair point

I still don’t understand the scale

Today I lost 3.3 lbs for a total of 28.4. I’m thrilled, in awe. I did not think I could do this. What makes no sense to me. This week I ate 9.5 of my weekies and only earned 11 APs, yet I had a similar loss to two weeks ago when I ate 35+ weeklies and earned 24 APs.

The scale lies and makes no sense. Unfortunately, the same can be said for my measuring tape. I’m losing inches in places I’m not measuring because my clothes almost don’t fit – but I’m not losing in the measurables much . . . → Keep Going: I still don’t understand the scale

I don’t understand the scale

I CANNOT believe I’ve lost 25 lbs on WW. I lost a chunk of weight my freshman year in college but I don’t remember what the number was. Know I’m not down as low as I was then because I was wearing a size 10. More on that weight loss in another post.

and this time in a good way. I had no business losing 3.2 this week. It’s TOM, among other things. If nothing else, it proves that my chart (updated below) shows that whether or not I eat my weeklies has no bearing on my weight loss. I’m . . . → Keep Going: I don’t understand the scale
